Much Ado about Winter!

As the evenings draw in and the days get colder, it is inevitable we will all miss the (very limited) Summer - the the change of seasons doesn't have to be all doom and gloom with many exciting events heading to the local area in the next few months!

We have rounded up five of our favourites to get you excited for the coming Autumn/Winter Seasons!

LEGOLAND (5 minutes drive)

The ever popular theme park is a real delight this time of year with so much going on above and beyond the park’s fantastic rides which, if you haven’t been this year, now includes their brand new land, MYTHICA with the UK’s first ever flying theatre ride!

Beyond the park’s excellent attractions - you will not want to miss their Half-Term Halloween event ‘Brick or Treat’ (14 - 31 Oct) when the entire place is transformed into a pumpkin-filled wonderland for what is sure to be the most frightfully fun event of the year perfect for the young, and the young at heart!
Or check out their Fireworks Spectacular Event (5-7 Nov) which boasts some of the very best firework displays in the area. These aren’t just any fireworks though, LEGOLAND® fireworks turn into exploding LEGO® bricks with some magic from their special Brick glasses!*

And finally, experience the magic of LEGOLAND® at Christmas this festive season. Wonder at the twinkling lights, snow-dusted pine trees, exciting seasonal festivities and see the park with a sprinkle of LEGO® magic

WINDSOR GREAT PARK ILLUMINATED (15 minute drive)

The newest and most exciting addition to the local area for the festive season this year is Windsor Great Park Illuminated which will run from 18th November – 9th January. This incredible light trail will ensure Windsor Great Park will come alive with dazzling lights, dancing stars and breath-taking projections.

Created and produced by global events and entertainment leaders, this very special light trail will take you on a multi-sensory journey through a dreamlike laser-scape, a cathedral of light, and past fountains of flowers, woodland creature holograms and many more moments of awe. If you have ever been to the similar events at locations such as Blenheim Palace, then you’ll know you are in for a real festive treat that’s sure to delight the whole family and bring some really christmas cheer!

LAPLAND UK (10 minute drive)

Lapland UK is as close to the real deal as you’re likely to see, but be warned, this is a advanced ticket event and it books up very quickly!

The ultimate experience for the whole family, LAPLAND UK is situated just a short 10 minute drive from the hotel and delivers a truly unique opportunity for the little ones to explore Santa’s workshop, the Toy Factory, meet the elves and of course meet Father Christmas himself. This magical kingdom is set within nearby Swinley Forest and has acres of festive fun for the whole family to immerse themselves in.
With everything from an ice rink, real reindeer and even an elvish post office - your little ones will be sure to have an unforgettable experience with this one.

WINDSOR ON ICE (15 minutes drive)

Returning to Alexandra Gardens from the 26th November and just a short walk from Windsor Castle is the ever popular Windsor on Ice experience. This large covered ice rink is the perfect place for the whole family to enjoy a winter activity and all levels of skaters are welcome, experienced and inexperienced. The viewing area also serves excellent festive food and there are plenty of other rides and attractions to enjoy including Dodgems, Bungees, Twister, Race-o-Rama, the Waltzer, the Toy ride, Mini planes, Helicopters and even Santa's Sleigh roller coaster!

PANTOMIME (15 minutes drive)

Could you even have a christmas without the lure of the theatre and the national treasure that is a pantomime? This year see’s a magical retelling of the classic - Jack and the Beanstalk at Theatre Royal Windsor with the show running from 26th November – 9th January!

Starring Music Icon – the one and only Anita Harris! Along with beloved Windsor favourites including the legendary Basil Brush, Dotty Dame Steven Blakeley and calamitous comic Kevin Cruise - this one will be a laugh a minute, family fun fest and with lots of great places to eat nearby and Windsor On Ice just a short walk away, it’s the perfect way to cap of a day of festive fun in Windsor.
